English as an Additional language (EAL)

English is the main language in Saskatchewan. You will speak English with your doctor, your boss, your neighbours and at the store. Your chances of success in Saskatchewan will improve if you can understand and speak English.

North West College has free, part-time classes to help you improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening.  Classes are for permanent residents and temporary workers and are available in many communities in the region. If a program is not available in your community, ask about our on-line program.

Watch the video below for an idea of various English language training options.

Resettling in Canada as a refugee can be a rewarding but challenging experience. Learn more about what to expect when you first arrive and the services available to help you get settled into your new life.
