2022 Fall Term Update

North West College is committed to in-person teaching, learning, and services this fall.  We look forward to having on-campus activity, while protecting the health and safety of our community.

While the restrictions surrounding Covid-19 have been lifted; it is still recommended that you isolate and stay home if you are feeling sick or have been diagnosed with COVID-19.  We ask that you do not come to campus until you are symptom free for 24 hours. Public Health still strongly recommends immediate self-isolation for anyone who tests positive for COVID-19.

Please be aware North West College:

  • Remains a mask friendly environment, and it is important that everyone is kind and respectful of individuals' choices.
  • Vaccinations and boosters are recommended; however are not required for access to the campus.

To monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our campus, all positive cases involving North West College students, staff, and faculty, regardless of whether the person has been at a campus location or not, must be reported by following the steps outlined for self-reporting confirmed cases.

  • Students, if you need to miss class or an exam because you are sick or diagnosed/exposed to COVID-19, contact your instructor(s).
  • Employees, immediately notify your supervisor and follow the isolation guidelines if you have a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Suspected close contacts are no longer required to report or self-isolate. Rapid antigen and PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests are being treated as equivalent for the purposes of tracking and reporting positive cases.

While vaccines are not mandatory for everyone at this time, North West College strongly encourages faculty, staff and students on any campus or work site to obtain their COVID-19 vaccine booster(s) as soon as they are eligible. As we learn more about this latest wave of the pandemic, it is abundantly clear that boosters are a highly effective way to enhance the COVID-19 vaccine’s effectiveness against infection, serious illness, infectivity, and hospitalization.

We thank you for your continued effort and commitment to protect our community and help ensure the Fall Term is a success.

Sincerely,

Executive Management
North West College
