Early Childhood Education - Level I Part-Time 2024-2025
Overview
August 20 start date with approximate end date of December 12. Classes will be held Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 6:00pm - 10:00pm; Plus 1 designated Saturday per month, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
This Early Learning and Child Care certificate program offered in cooperation with Lakeland College gives you the knowledge and skills you need to work in a variety of child care settings.
An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level I certificate opens the door to employment in childcare facilities and, with open admission, provides an opportunity for students to access post-secondary credits and a certificate recognized by employers.
The three level I courses that are required by the Ministry of Education for this credential are:
- HS 155 Positive Behavior Supports
- HE 158 Health, Safety and Nutrition
- ED 120 Observation and Play

Admission Requirements
- Completed Grade 10
- Admission to these courses is open to Saskatchewan residents
- English language proficiency
- Tuition and books are free thanks to support from Government of Canada and Government of Saskatchewan.
