Skid Steer Operator Training - AKA Safety

The course includes instructor-led PowerPoint, class exercises, multiple choice test, function test and operation of a skid steer vehicle. Student will receive training for Skid Steer referencing Standards CSA-B352.0-09, CSA M12117-05, CSA M3471-05, CSA M3450-03

Topics Include:

  • Skid Steer Basics
  • Skid Steer Types and Limitations
  • Hazard Assessment and Controls
  • Legislation and Standards
  • Pre-Use Inspection of a Skid Steer
  • Safe Operation of a Skid Steer

Classroom portion in the morning starts at 8 a.m. Practical component of the course is at an off-site location in North Battleford. Participants are required to complete practical training on the same day as the classroom training and must provide own transportation to the off-site location. 

Please note:

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required for this course (Hard Hat, Steel Toed Boots, Gloves, and Glasses) coveralls recommended
  • Students must have proof of a Ground Disturbance course
  • Program Length: 8 Hrs (classroom length 4-5 hours then practical to follow)
  • Certification Duration: 3 Years
