Telehandler Operator Training - AKA Safety

This course covers the safe movement of material on the job site using a Telehandler. Student will receive training for Telehandler referencing Standard CSA-B335-94.

Topics Include:

  • Legislation and Standards
  • Responsibilities (Employer, Supervisor, Worker)
  • Hazard Evaluation and Control
  • Planning
  • Choosing the Right Telehandler
  • Pre-use Visual Inspection
  • Inspecting the Path of Travel
  • Safe Operation (Stability, Capacity, Slope, etc.)
  • Rescue Planning and Communication

Classroom portion in the morning starts at 8 a.m. Practical component of the course is at an off-site location in North Battleford. Participants are required to complete practical training on the same day as the classroom training and must provide own transportation to the off-site location.

Please note: 

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required for this course (Hard Hat, Steel Toed Boots, Gloves, and Glasses) coveralls recommended
  • Program Length: 8 Hrs (classroom length 4-5 hours then practical to follow)
  • Certification Duration: 3 Years
