Oilfield Driver Awareness (ODA)

The Oilfield Driver Awareness (ODA) course replaces two courses previously offered by Enform (General Oilfield Driver Improvement - GODI, and Light Duty Vehicle - LDV.) Provincial agencies are aware of the updated course offering and will be accepting the Oilfield Driver Awareness (ODA) certificate as a replacement of the GODI or LDV certificate.

This in-class, instructor-led course focuses on developing effective driver behaviour and attitudes, and helping drivers maintain an attitude of safety when they are behind the wheel.

Course topics include:

  • Developing a professional driving attitude
  • Understanding and dealing with personal limitations (physical and mental well-being)
  • Driving proactively - how to be a defensive driver
  • Responding to changing road conditions
  • Developing emergency response plans
  • Performing safety inspections
  • Planning for the journey
  • Controlling exposure to hazards

Certification Duration: 3 years
Certified by: Energy Safety Canada

Course Cost: $180 (subject to change)

Course Times: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Please note - this course begins promptly at 8:00 am - please arriver early to complete the registration process.
