"No Fooling" Scholarship Fundraiser
Meadow Lake, SK – North West College is proud to announce the “No Fooling” fundraiser held on April 1st was a great success. Held at the Civic Centre in Meadow Lake, the event was a “mix and mingle” to raise money for student scholarships.
Tracey Conrad, one of the event organizers, said “the College raised close to $7,000 for scholarships. These funds go a long way to help students achieve their academic and career goals and the support of our community members and businesses is greatly appreciated.”
Local and regional businesses contributed prizes to the various fundraising games and raffles. Andrew Alves talked about his experience moving from Toronto to take the Forest-to-Fork program in Meadow Lake and how receiving an entrance scholarship made a positive impact on his ability to make ends meet while a student.
WestJet kindly donated two tickets to anywhere they fly. The lottery license did not arrive in time for the “No Fooling” event so once the tickets are printed, they will be available at NWC offices and from staff for a June 17 draw date. Tickets will be $20 each.
